New Jersey Considers Stricter Teacher Requirements

Posted: Updated:

New Jersey is considering changing the requirements to be a teacher in the Garden State.

A proposal would require prospective teachers to have at least a "B" average in college before they get certified.

Right now, teachers need a 2.75, which is a C+.

Critics say the change could weed out some would-be teachers who come from other professions.

Pennsylvania and Delaware already require a "B" average to teach.
