FOX 29 Getting Results For Family Waiting For New Pool

Posted: Updated:
DOWNINGTOWN, Pa. -

Imagine saving up for 12 years to build the pool of your dreams for you and your kids.

That's what a Chester County family did only to see tens of thousands of dollars disappear when the pool was never built!

So we sent FOX 29's Claudia Gomez to get some results.

Linda Saggese and her family have big plans for their backyard this summer.

"This is the pool bar, it goes with the pool. We're putting stone underneath. And we have the countertops, wired it in for a kegerator, an outdoor TV," Saggese said.

Well, it sounds like the ideal set-up for the perfect summer, right? They paid for their pool May 11. It was supposed to be installed a week later. Here we are on June 14, and still no pool.

Even though they paid in full.

"Close to $40,000. $39,688 so far," Saggese said.

And what has she gotten for her money at this point? "Flags. Little red flags in the ground."

Saggese and her husband did their homework, choosing among half a dozen pool companies. They went with Ladybug Pools, which has an office in Newtown, Bucks County.

When we showed up, we were told no one was in.

Saggese says she's called repeatedly to ask when she's getting her pool, but she says she gets the run-around.

"It's going to be the next week. And then the next week they tell us it's going to be the next week. And then the next week they tell us it's going to be the next week."

When we finally talked to a project manager by phone, he told us his company has been having problems with the pool manufacturer, but vowed to deliver on his promise.

We asked Gustavo Ferrin, of Ladybug Pools, over the phone when is it getting installed?

"Weather permitting, if we have good weather Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, it should be done between those three days," Ferrin said.

He later added, "I'm truly sorry for everything that happened. I can't do anything but just make good on what I'm saying right now. I give you my word as a man that it'll happen."

Saggese said, "I appreciate it and I hope that they're right. And if they are, we have you to thank because you were certainly the catalyst for making this happen."

Friday afternoon, Ladybug Pools began delivering material in preparation for the pool, Gomez reported.

When you hear about a place that still sells records, located in a hip neighborhood in the borough of Brooklyn, you enter that store with certain expectations. One of them being: you hope the guy behind the counter talks about music the way Cory Fierman does."I think it's just like the most important thing to you," he says. "I don't know how to describe it.
