NOVI, Mich. (WJBK) -

Always had the need for speed? At JD Racing Indoor Karting, you can bring the whole family and release your inner speed demon.

Get behind-the-wheel of a high-performance electric kart that zooms up to 40 miles-per-hour on a very sleek track made just for karting.

"It's a very technical track. It's a high speed track utilizing the positive aspects of the electric karts for your immediate acceleration. It's 1,100 feet long, and it's very enjoyable," said Mark Dick.

You have to be at least eight years old and a minimum of 54 inches to drive, but the limitations are few and far between at JD Racing. The cars are quiet. There is no gas smell, and the place attracts drivers and events of all shapes and sizes.

"We are able to host anything from your youthful birthday parties all the way up to your high-end corporate outings, and we've done everything in between also," Dick said.

Bachelor and bachelorette parties are also popular.

You make a profile for yourself and create a name, then you put the pedal to the metal, and when you're done with your race, you get a firsthand look at how you did.

"Post on track session, everybody gets a unique, individual time sheet that lists your lap by lap performance and then also how you compare to the other individuals that you were on track with," Dick said.

What's the secret to having a great race?

"Just being nice and smooth and not hitting anything. As soon as you're hitting something, it's slowing you down," Dick said.

You will find JD Racing Indoor Karting on Twelve Mile Road in Novi. For more information, visit www.jdkarting.com.
