TAMPA (FOX 13) -

Busch Gardens expects some of their newest additions to become a 'mane' attraction this summer. Three baby lions have arrived at the park and will make their public debut soon.

The cubs -- who don't have names yet -- are only between 3 and 4 months old, but are already world travelers. They were born in South Africa, arrived at the park in Tampa last month, and headed to New York to make the rounds on the national morning news programs this week.

Two of the cubs are sisters, born March 20. The third is an unrelated male, born Feb. 20. All three cubs have genetic lines from the Kalahari and Kruger regions of South Africa.

According to the park, the addition of the cubs comes as the result of a relationship between Busch Gardens and a private zoological facility in South Africa. The goal is to help protect and preserve the species.

A Busch Gardens press release says park guests will soon be able to see the cubs in the Edge of Africa area of the park. Once they are large enough, the park's animal care team will start introducing the cubs to the lion and hyena habitat of the Edge of Africa attraction.

The park is holding a name-the-cubs promotion on its Facebook page. Fans can vote for names after 'liking' the page: https://www.facebook.com/BuschGardensTampaBay?v=app_337393606296654

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is holding its monthly board meeting, two days after it heard from a panel on what it needs to do to improve its accountability and efficiency and restore public trust.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey could rescind a $1-a-year lease for a park-and-ride lot near the Lincoln Tunnel. The agency's chief of real estate and development told a committee Wednesday that it should change a deal made in 2012. Published reports have alleged that former Port Authority chairman David Samson voted to approve the lease even though his law firm did business with New Jersey Transit, which operates the park-and-ride lot.
