CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Autopsy results show a Darien man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound and three women found dead with him died of gunshot wounds to the face.

On Tuesday, police were called to the home in the 500-block of Oldfield Road in unincorporated Downers Grove after neighbors said they heard gun shots.

When sheriff's deputies arrived at the home, they found 48-year-old Jeana Andrus, 22-year-old Jessica Andrus, 16-year-old Jennifer Andrus, and 50-year-old David Andrus dead from apparent gunshot wounds, a statement from the sheriff's office said.

DuPage County Coroner Richard Jorgensen says the autopsies were conducted Wednesday afternoon. The coroner said the four members of the same family were the apparent victims of a triple-murder suicide.

Law enforcement sources said the father, David Andrus, appeared to be the shooter.

Police called this case "isolated" adding that there is "no real danger for the community."

"You just never know these days," neighbor Linda DeFranco said. "People are stressed, worried about everything."

People who live in the area were standing outside Tuesday, watching investigators come and go, waiting for any information about the victims.

One of the girls' cousins was staying with the family at the time of the shooting, said neighbor Rachel Steinhaus, who has known the family since 2000.

The man who was staying with the family declined to comment, his father said.

Steinhaus heard arguing coming from the home as she got her mail Monday, but she didn't think it was anything out of the ordinary.

"It was basically two family members yelling at each other. They always fight with each other," she said.

Steinhaus said she heard some popping noises afterward but thought they were from car doors closing.

As she spoke, the girls' cousin crossed her lawn and Steinhaus ran to hug him before he stepped into Steinhaus' home.

Steinhaus is also caring for some of the family's five dogs, but one dog is in police custody because it walked through the crime scene, she said.

Another neighbor, Carrie Speakman, was taking her morning run on Tuesday when she ran past the house and saw two men arguing loudly outside on the front porch, her husband, Brent Speakman, said.

"It was definitely obvious they were arguing," Brent Speakman said. "They were going back and forth."

Shortly after his wife saw the men arguing, Brent Speakman saw a stream of police cars speeding to the house.

Just three years ago, the community came together after three family were killed just one away from Tuesday night's murder scene.

Jeffrey Kramer, 50; his wife, Lori, 48 ; and their youngest son, Michael, 20, were killed during a bitter custody dispute involving their daughter's boyfriend. She was not home at the time of the March 2010 murders.

Johnny Borizov was convicted of orchestrating the murders in May.
