AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (WJBK) -

If there is one thing twelve-year-old Octavion knows about it is basketball, and his favorite team is the Pistons.

He wants to play someday, but in the meantime he would love to teach his ten-year-old brother Victor all about the players and the game.

The only thing Octavion loves more than basketball is his little brother. He was happy they both got to share a special visit recently to The Palace of Auburn Hills.

"Octavion... loves basketball. With the right family and guidance and support, he's going to do great things with his dreams. He's got big dreams, and he's not stopping anytime soon," said Shelby Davis from St. Vincent Catholic Charities. "Victor does really well in school, a really smart, intelligent kid. He's artistic, very funny kid."

The two brothers have been through a lot in their lives and they only have each other. That is why it is so important to them to be adopted together.

"I think it's important to have a brother to teach you stuff, teach you what not to do," Victor said.

These two brothers have no one else, so they cling to each other like a life raft afraid if they let go, they will drift apart forever.

They have a lot of love to give, and they are hoping to find a special family who will keep them together.

"My mom, she told me to always stay with my brother," Octavion said. "I kept that promise, and I never want to break that promise because I want to keep my word."

Heavy thunderstorms swept through the tri-state on Sunday causing flash floods and lightning strikes that injured 3 people. The three men were struck at Orchard Beach in the Bronx Sunday afternoon and were being treated at a local hospital. Meanwhile, various Labor Day weekend celebrations were interrupted, delayed and even canceled as the U.S. Open tennis tournament had to be postponed and the Electric Zoo musical festival on Randall's Island had to be prematurely shut down.
