NEW JERSEY (MYFOXNY.COM) -

MetLife Stadium was hip-hopping for the 20th anniversary of Hot 97's Summer Jam Sunday night.

Summer Jam is the world's biggest and hottest hip-hop concert in the world with many A-list artists who performed including Chris Brown.

Tens of thousands of music fans went wild when they saw former 'American Idol' judge and superstar Mariah Carey join Miguel on the MetLife Stadium stage.

"As an artist all you can ever ask is for people to pay attention and so far, those of you paying attention – I really do appreciate it from the bottom of my heart," said Miguel.

Miguel also brought J Cole on stage.

"I love Summer Jam so you know I had to come out and just show love," said J Cole.

Singer Chris Brown jumped into a golf cart surrounded by his entourage and tight security for his performance. He didn't talk when he was approached by Fox 5 and saved it all for his performance on stage.

The backstage dressing corridors were buzzing when surprise guest Lil' Kim showed up.

"It's great to see you too … you're my girl," said Lil' Kim to Fox 5's Lisa Evers.

Artist ASAP Rocky was also at the concert and Fox 5 caught him as he was going to the stage for the very first time.

"ASAP all day baby – got me lookin' blind and fine.  Don't know what to say – hello to everybody. Hi mom I love you."

Rapper Drake was expected to make a surprise appearance but he did not take the stage. It is unclear as to why.
