DETROIT (WJBK) -

72-year-old Alphonso Jackson was wheeled into court on Friday. Already charged with dismembering a corpse, he is now also charged with murdering that woman in his apartment at a senior living building on Detroit's east side on May 3.

"Where did you see this blood?" Daniel Lucas was asked. He performs maintenance work at the apartment complex.

"In the small elevator. It was a puddle on the inside of the elevator, and there was a trail coming out of the elevator, out the front door and into the driveway," he testified.

Security and maintenance employees at the building testified to seeing blood in the elevator and Jackson leaving around 5:00 a.m. that morning on his scooter. He was carrying a bag dripping with blood.

"'What you got in the bag?' He said, 'Bad meat,'" said security worker Isaac Ross.

"When he came back an hour and a half later, did you say anything to him?" he was asked.

"I asked him what he did with the bag," Ross said.

"And what did he say?" he was asked.

"He said, 'What is it to you,' and he got on the elevator," Ross said.

There was also testimony the trouble had started a day or two earlier when an emergency cord was pulled in Jackson's eleventh floor apartment. Security and maintenance went to see what was wrong.

"They were both naked," Lucas said.

"Was Mr. Jackson in a wheelchair?" he was asked.

"No. He was standing right beside her," Lucas said.

"I said, 'Is everything okay?' He said, 'Yeah. She just had a mild stroke," Ross said.

But nobody had any medical issues and nothing else happened until Jackson was spotted leaving with the bloody bag and police were called. They had to force their way into Jackson's apartment and found a disturbing scene in the bathroom.

"Parts," said Detroit Police Officer Cory Solomon. "For sure the buttocks."

"Water was very dark, and it was kind of hard to tell."

"Couple knives on the edge of the bathtub."

Police later found the woman's torso on Anderdon on Detroit's east side next to an abandoned building.

The medical examiner is expected to testify when court resumes next Friday.
