SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

An FBI raid has led to charges involving underage prostitution. It's the latest in a series of allegations involving the website Backpage.com.

"It is a priority for the FBI to recover those children and to see that those individuals are held accountable," said FBI spokesperson Simon Shaykhet.

20-year-old Desiree Poole posted some racy pictures on Backpage.com, and you can probably guess what she was selling.

The feds say she is not only a prostitute, but also a pimp. The victim is a 15-year-old girl. It started when the victim was just 14. They posted ads on Backpage.com advertising their services. The two were busted at a Red Roof Inn in Ann Arbor this past January.

Poole also allegedly told investigators she did the same thing with a 17-year-old just a month earlier.

The Southeast Michigan Crimes Against Children Task Force sees these kinds of crimes far too often.

"These are people that are preying on young women, children, and trying to bring them into a very dangerous lifestyle where they are being exploited," Shaykhet said.

"Anyone who is exploiting children and trying to lure them either over the Internet or through some other avenue through the promise of money or some other financial benefit, those are people that the FBI is serious about pursuing and bringing to justice."

Poole is still being held by the U.S. Marshals. She is expected to be in court next week. Meanwhile, the alleged victim is in a juvenile facility for unrelated charges.
