Kree Harrison: Support Was Way More Than I Could've Ever Imagined

Posted: Updated:

Kree Harrison puts a lot of herself in her music. Steve and Maria asked the American idol runner-up about the death of her parents and how it influences her music. Kree opened up about going home with "Idol" cameras following her and gets a bit choked up talking about much support she still gets from the community.

Her new single "All Cried Out" is already a hit on the country charts and she sings it live on Good Day LA. Kree lights up when Maria asks her about an incredible gig she has next week: performing at The Grand Ole Opry.

Fun facts about Kree:

  • She was the runner-up in the 12th season of American Idol.
  • At age 3, Harrison asked her pastor if she could sing during church.
  • Harrison scored a development deal with Lyric Street Records at age 10, which resulted in her family moving from Woodville to Nashville.
  • Harrison began writing her own songs at the age of 14 and often found herself in writing sessions with songwriters such as Trey Bruce and artist Rebecca Lynn Howard.
  • Harrison was friends with platinum selling country singer Mindy McCready. McCready invited Harrison up to sing her song Guys Do It All the Time with her at a 2011 Country Music Association event in Nashville.
