DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) -

Wrestlemania 3 was held at the Pontiac Silverdome in 1987 with Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant; more than 93,000 people attended. In 2007, Wrestlemania returned to Detroit but this time it was held at Ford Field. At that time it was the second largest Wrestlemania of all time with more than 80,000 fans in the football stadium.

The event is promoted globally. If it returns to Detroit, it would mean a huge economic boost for our area. They will narrow the list of potential host cities down June 7; the ultimate decision is due Aug. 1. Stay with Fox 2 and myfoxdetroit.com for updates.
