TEMPE, Ariz. -

Police officers across the state are cracking down on drunk drivers this holiday weekend. Not only is this Memorial Day weekend, but a lot of high graduations will be taking place.

Tempe Police is one agency that says it will be out in full force May 24-26. Patrol units and motor officers will be very visible across Tempe and downtown. Youth alcohol prevention and enforcement will be a priority.

There will be several mobile task forces set up around Tempe.

People celebrating Memorial Day or graduation are reminded to get a designated driver or call a taxi.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, alcohol-related motor vehicle crashes kill someone in the United States every 48 minutes.
