GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. (WJBK) -

We are learning more about the past of the man currently in police custody in connection with the murder of 35-year-old Sabrina Gianino.

42-year-old Myron Williams is on probation in Michigan for a drug paraphernalia charge. He also has quite a past in Louisiana.

"Found out about the little jewelry heist and all that other stuff down in Louisiana, but some of that stuff I didn't know [anything] about," said Dale Williams.

His uncle has been staying with him at his home on Wayburn in Grosse Pointe Park. Gianino was found strangled with a cord around her neck at her boyfriend's home next door last week.

"If he did kill that lady, it will change my view and my outlook on him, but if he didn't, let him go," Dale Williams said.

Myron Williams arrest record in Louisiana includes breaking and entering, burglary, battery and assault. He was arrested Saturday after someone using Gianino's stolen cell phone apparently led police to him.

However, his nephew said police have told him they are also looking for another person in interest.

"They're looking for him and they [are] still questioning my uncle right now for like three days straight," he explained.

Dale Williams said police had to take his uncle's children to school Tuesday so they wouldn't be harassed.

Police have questioned Myron William's wife again, but there is still no warrant in the case and he has been held for more than 72 hours.

Meantime, at the bar down the street where Gianino's boyfriend works, friends held a fundraiser Tuesday evening to pay for her funeral. Donations are still being accepted at the Platz Animal Hospital where she worked.
