Good Day LA Anchor Steve Edwards Joins Twitter @SteveGDLA

Posted: Updated:

(FOX 11) Good Day LA anchor Steve Edwards has finally joined Twitter. Steve made the announcement just before the Good Day LA morning show on Monday, May 20th. He has been known for years to resist the urge to sign up for account, often saying "it's of value expect everything I read on it."

He's given his co-workers trouble for being on it so much, but those days are now behind us.

Steve received 2,000 followers within the first hour of announcing his Twitter handle, and he continues to soar, hopefully passing up his colleagues who have been veterans in the Twitter world for years.

Start following him on @SteveGDLA.

You can also follow the rest of the morning team and anyone else at FOX 11 by following our FOX 11 "On The Air" Twitter list at https://twitter.com/myfoxla/on-the-air and show the member list here.

On Wednesday, May 22nd, Steve will send out his first tweet.  Do you have an opinion on what you'd like Steve's first tweet to be?  Use the hashtag #WWST (What Would Steve Tweet) because he's looking for suggestions!

Heavy thunderstorms swept through the tri-state on Sunday causing flash floods and lightning strikes that injured 3 people. The three men were struck at Orchard Beach in the Bronx Sunday afternoon and were being treated at a local hospital. Meanwhile, various Labor Day weekend celebrations were interrupted, delayed and even canceled as the U.S. Open tennis tournament had to be postponed and the Electric Zoo musical festival on Randall's Island had to be prematurely shut down.
