BIR Training Center is looking for a full-time entry-level IT Support Technician.

Responsibilities:

- provide in person, over the phone and remote computer technical support

- provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, email, and operating systems

- promptly respond to a customer requests, troubleshoot network and computer related problems

- install and configure new office equipment (PC, printer, copier, projectors, etc.)

- install network switches, run network cables

- monitor functionality of existing equipment

- assist IT department with new projects

- provide training to non-technical staff

Requirements:

- Associate Degree in Computer Science or a related field is required

- 1+ year(s) experience in computer/network support

- must be able to solve problems quickly and have excellent communication skills to share the solutions

- patient, well organized, energetic, positive attitude and customer oriented

- analytical skills to diagnose problems and devise viable solutions

- can work independently and ensure that the job is getting done

- willing to work one weekend day per week (5 hours weekend shift)

- 10% travel time supporting other campuses (must have own car)

- must be a US citizen or a green card holder

- be able to lift 50 lb.

Technical Requirements:

- working knowledge of Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 desktop OS

- familiarity with Windows 2003, 2008, 2012 Server OS

- knowledge of computer and office equipment hardware: installation, maintenance, repair and upgrade

- wired and wireless networks (cabling, setting up a wireless router/AP)

- Microsoft Office 2010/13 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
