GBI: Evidence found in search for missing student

COCHRAN, Ga. (AP) - Authorities searching for a missing Middle Georgia State College student say they have found evidence near the home of a teenage suspect charged with his murder.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Sherry Lang said Saturday investigators found the evidence near the road where the suspect lives in Hawkinsville. She would not describe the evidence, but said authorities believe it is "relevant to the investigation."

Police are still searching for the body of 19-year-old college freshman Jmaal Malik Keyes of Austell, who was last seen on the Cochran campus April 25.

Police say the teen suspect arrested Thursday has been charged as an adult with Keyes' murder. They have not said why they believe Keyes was slain. The suspect had dual enrollment at a high school and at the college.
