Man arrested in SC in beating of couple in Augusta

Posted: Updated:

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - Authorities in Augusta say they have charged one man and identified a second suspect in an attack on a couple who were beaten and robbed at the city's downtown riverfront.

The Augusta Chronicle reports Richmond County sheriff's investigators said Friday that Robey Moses had been arrested in Newberry, S.C., on robbery and aggravated assault charges. Another man, 21-year-old Kevin D. Richardson, has been identified as a suspect in the attacks but has not been located.

Authorities spent the past week hunting for whoever attacked 27-year-old Wesley Spires and 25-year-old Ashley Solesbee at the downtown RIverwalk Augusta on May 3. Investigators say the couple was beaten with metal bats or pipes.

An anonymous donor has offered a $10,000 reward information leading to arrests and convictions.

A dance party for kids and tweens looks like a rave or perhaps a wild night at the club. But actually, many of the people at this party probably just learned how to tie their shoes. Twin brothers Tyler and Tristin recently had a FUZIPOP party in Manhattan to celebrate their 10th birthday. Never heard of a FUZIPOP party?

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and the federal prosecutor investigating political payback allegations involving the Republican's administration are both set to speak at a prisoner re-entry conference on Thursday.
Former NBA player Jayson Williams says trying to re-enter society after serving time for shooting a limousine driver was more difficult than being in prison.
