Trial watchers still 'a-twitter' on social media following verdict

Once the verdict came down, Jodi Arias instantly became one of the biggest trending topics on social media.

People from all over the world had plenty to say about anything related to the case.

At 1:47 p.m., when the verdict came down, there were 63,197 mentions of "Arias," just under 50,000 mentions of "Jodi" and 102,574 mentions of the word "guilty," according to analytics.topsy.com.

As of Thursday morning, "Jodi Arias" was still trending on Twitter. People couldn't stop sounding off on their opinion of her, Travis Alexander and prosecutor Juan Martinez.

During the trial, Arias had a friend tweeting for her under the Twitter name "@JodiAnnArias."

Initially, many thought it was fake, but Arias confirmed she would call a friend whenever she had something to tweet and the friend would do it for her.

Since the trial has ended, so has Arias' account. We don't know if her friend took it down or if it was ordered by the court.
