TROY, Mich. (WJBK) -

Voters in Troy will head to the polls to choose a new mayor Tuesday, six months after the ouster of former Mayor Janice Daniels.

Retired Troy police captain and current Mayor Dane Slater is seeking to finish Daniels' term, which expires in 2015. The other five candidates include former State Representative Marty Knollenberg, Jon Desjardins, Faris Alami, David Elsas and Scott Welborn.

The polls are open until 8 p.m.

Daniels was recalled in November after controversial remarks she made out homosexuality surfaced on Facebook.

Six people were indicted Wednesday in an international ring that managed to take over more than 1,000 StubHub users' accounts and fraudulently buy tickets to such prime events as Jay-Z and Elton John concerts, a New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox game and Broadway shows like "The Book of Mormon," the Manhattan district attorney said. Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. said the thieves would then resell the tickets and split up the proceeds.
