460 arrested for DUI during Cinco de Mayo weekend

TEMPE, Ariz. -

It was a big party weekend and a lot of people over indulged while celebrating Cinco de Mayo.

DUI Task Forces were set up around the valley Saturday night to make sure everyone was driving safely.

During May 1st - 6th, 6,581 traffic stops were conducted.  Out of those, 460 were for DUI, including 53 aggravated, 407 misdemeanor, 148 extreme DUI and 53 were arrested with priors.

In 2012's Cinco de Mayo Task Force, 490 people were arrested.

14 were arrested for underage DUI.

There were 3,218 other citations that included speed.

According to the Arizona Governor's Office for Highway Safety, 1,205 officers and deputies participated in the DUI Task force.
