COBB COUNTY, Ga. -

She is a teen on a mission to save lives after losing the life on someone close to her due to texting and driving.

For years, Alex Sorohan has been on a mission to convince her peers as well as adults that texting and driving are lethal combination. Her proof is pictured on a poster-size photo the 19 year old carries around with her.

The image is of her dead brother's crush sedan.

Alex shared the story of her brother Caleb with other teens on Saturday at the 2013 Safe America SafeTeen Georgia Driving Academy at the Cobb Galleria. On December 15, 2009, the Morgan County teen was killed when he looked down to text and was killed instantly in a crash.

Six months later Caleb's Law was signed by the governor making it illegal to text and drive.

The law has deterred some, but other need reminding. That is why Alex goes to events like the one held Saturday which offers teens a day-long driver's education class.

Experts say Georgia ranks fourth in the nation for teen-involved crashes with injuries and fatalities. One safety expert says it all comes down to distractions in the car combined with their inexperience.
