5 garages in Chandler damaged in one night

CHANDLER, Ariz. -

Families in a Chandler neighborhood are trying to figure out who would intentionally damage five garages in one night. Are they targets, or is it just a prank?

"I hear like big noise, a big explosion, it sounded like a bomb," said Dorota Staskiewicz.

Dorota Staskiewicz's pint size pup sounded the alarm that someone was trying to break in through the garage.

"When I came I could not really believe it, like punches, one two three like all over. I didn't know what to do."

She was ready to call the cops when she heard another loud bang. That noise was coming from Fred Salvidge's home. He was hit too.

"I don't know if they tried to get in. I just think someone was on a rampage and just crash or kicked in my door," says Salvidge.

Even with the security sign in the front yard of this house, the vandals still tried to dent the garage door.

Both Ed and Dorota are surprised. The neighborhood is very quiet.

"It's kind of scary and it's like for the first time I don't know what to think."

Now she's waiting to replace the garage door it will be a stronger door. Chandler police say at least five homes were hit by the vandals in one night -- but there could be more victims.

They believe juveniles did the damage.
