Atlanta Botanical garden to feature sculptured plants

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Giant plants will invade Atlanta Botanical Garden on May 4! Nineteen giant topiary-like sculptures of mosaiculture -- the centuries-old horticultural art of covering steel forms in living plants -- will be featured in Imaginary Worlds: Plants Larger Than Life!

The plants were created by artisans of International Mosaiculture of Montreal. The creations start with a metal base, and then covered with a special fabric and planted. The plants are watered from the inside.

The plants will be display for the next six months, and seven extra staffers will help maintain the living plants.

Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken visited the garden to get a preview of these life-size creations!
