NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

AOL is shutting down AOL Music and its properties, including music website Spinner.com, according to Spinner editor, Dan Reilly.

"Well, we all just got laid off. AOL Music is finished," Reilly tweeted Friday from his personal account.

The official Spinner.com Twitter account also reported that news, but the tweets were later deleted: "Hey guys. Just found out from AOL that we're shutting down. Today is our last day. Seriously." and "All of AOL Music is shutting down. Thank you all for your support. We had such a blast."

Meantime, the AOL Music Twitter account had not acknowledged the news as of 3 p.m. Friday. The latest tweet was about Milet Cyrus.

Spinner.com featured interviews with music artists, album streams, free music downloads, music videos, and more. AOL aquired Spinner in 1999, according to TechCrunch.

As of 3:30 p.m. Friday, AOL has not reponded to an email request for confirmation and comment.

Singer Constantine Maroulis is back on Broadway in Rock of Ages and he couldn't be more excited. “It's incredible. I think every actor's dream is to create a role that becomes an iconic show all around the world. The show is played for millions of people. To be back on Broadway is a great time,” said Maroulis. The Brooklyn born New Jersey raised performer returned to the role he helped create this summer. The question was never if, but when, he would come back.
