2 missing hikers found in Superstition Mountains

APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. -

The search is over for a pair of hikers who were lost in the Superstition Mountains. They were located Friday night by rescuers.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's office said the man and woman left the First Water Trail on Wednesday and planned to return Thursday night.

The person who was supposed to pick up the hikers on Thursday night couldn't make it, so the hikers had to camp out an additional night.

Since they had already expected to stay in the mountains overnight once, they had a fair amount of food and water.

They were found about 7:30 p.m. Friday, and appeared to be in good condition.
