SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

The race for Detroit mayor is heating up.  Lisa Howze, the first person to announce her intentions more than a year ago, has made it official.

"I am running for mayor here in the City of Detroit," she said.

Meanwhile, the newest addition to the field is Tom Barrow.

"I'm thrilled about the opportunity to offer myself to the public," he said.

And then there is the man that has kept everyone guessing.  He is still not sure.

"Once I've decide to get into it, then I don't give a damn who's in the race," said Mayor Dave Bing.

What impact will the growing field of candidates have on the outcome of the election?

Joining Huel Perkins and Charlie Langton were Howze and Barrow.  Plus, rounding out our panel was political consultant Steve Hood.
