19-Year-Old Pleasantville Man Shot In Officer Involved Shooting

ATLANTIC COUNTY, N.J. -

A 19-year-old was shot and killed Monday in a police involved shooting in Pleasantville, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced.

The shooting happened shortly after 4 p.m. in the area of the 800 block of West Park Avenue.

According to investigators, police officers with the Pleasantville Police Department responded to a report that a man was allegedly armed and making threats outside of a home.

After their arrival, the prosecutor's office says the 19-year-old was shot multiple times by officers. The man, who the prosecutor's office has identified as Alexis Perez, was pronounced dead at the scene.

As of Monday night, an autopsy had not been completed.

The prosecutor's office says the state's attorney general was notified of the shooting.
