Bob Sirott`s One More Thing about a movie you need to see

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

One more thing, about a movie you need to see.

Over the weekend, the Tom Cruise sci-fi thriller "Oblivion" was number one at the box office. But the movie I'm talking about wasn't even in the top ten. Roger Ebert used to say most weeks the best films will not be the ones you've heard the most about. Never was that truer than in the case of "Disconnect," starring Jason Bateman.

The movie cleverly weaves together three chilling stories all connected to the dark side of the internet age and social media. This is kind of like "Sleepless in Seattle," the next generation. And if there's a message here it's that when in-person contact ends, unfathomable trouble can begin.

One of the interwoven stories in "Disconnect" is about bullying. It's too bad the movie is rated R because every young kid should see this. And so should you. The plot line about identity theft will scare the daylights out of you.

I had never heard of this movie until Richard Roeper mentioned on the radio that it was the best film he'd seen all year. He gave it an A+. Boy was he right.
