A dramatic spike in the number of Americans with permits to carry concealed weapons coincides with an equally stark drop in violent crime, according to a new study, which Second Amendment advocates say makes the case that more guns can mean safer streets.

PHOENIX -

People gathered in Phoenix Saturday to protest Sen. Jeff Flake's vote against gun control earlier this week.

The protesters were part of the group called Organizing for Action Arizona and rallied in front of Flake's office near 22nd Street and Camelback.

They're upset with Flake voting against the Machin Toomey bill which would have increased background checks on gun buyers.

Protesters also gathered at Sen. John McCain's office later in the day to thank him for supporting the bill.
