CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police have released a sketch of a man who sexually assaulted one woman and beat another this month on the Northwest Side.

The man first ran up to a female walking near North Oak Park and West Belmont avenues and forced her to accompany him to a vehicle about 9:45 a.m. on April 13, according to a community alert from Area North detectives.

The suspect said he had a knife and a gun, although he never displayed a weapon, and then sexually assaulted the woman, police said.

About 45 minutes later, the same man is believed to have tried to force another woman into a vehicle, police said. He did not sexually assault the second woman, but did hit and kick her in the face.

He is described as a 28- to 35-year-old black man with a medium complexion, short black hair, light brown eyes and chipped or crooked teeth, police said. He is about 5-feet-10 to 6-foot and 165 to 175 pounds.

He was last seen wearing all black clothing and black shoes, police said. He may have been driving a midnight blue 2005 four-door Ford Focus.
