Ford’s top salesperson sells right here in metro-Detroit

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (myFOXDetroit.com) -

They call her "The Machine."

Laurie Moses works at Suburban Ford in Waterford. The owner tells us, any time a salesperson across his 30 dealerships sells at least 200 vehicles, the company celebrates. But Moses has more than doubled that number, clocking in an impressive 559 vehicles. That makes her the best Ford salesperson in the country.

When asked to reveal her secret, she wasn't sure what to say. "There isn't something that I could write down and teach you, or anyone else that's starting the business. Because it's just me. It's my personality. It's the way I think I maybe make it more fun. I really don't know, but I treat people the way I want to be treated. It's really that simple."

Her sales record is almost all referrals and repeats, no fleet sales. And her streak continues - we're told she's on track to top 600 this year.

NY TechDay is where the hottest new startups come every year. More than 400 of them from all different countries come to check out the NYC tech scene. Our first stop at Pier 92 was Rent Hackr, a website with renter generated data to help apartment hunters. Then we checked out Karma, a portable Wi-Fi device that lets you share hot spots with friends.

Chanting the mayor's name in appreciation, some 50 demonstrators protested horse-drawn carriages in the city on Thursday. The protest was organized by PETA and NYCLASS after a horse fell on the corner of 5th Avenue and 59th Street Wednesday. The protestors said the horse was spooked by a bus and cited witness accounts who shot some video. The horse that fell is 15-year-old Spartacus.
