EVANSTON, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

An elderly motorist attempting to park accidentally drove over a curb, ran over a parking meter and crashed into a north suburban pharmacy Tuesday afternoon.

The 74-year-old woman crashed a 2013 Subaru Forester into the CVS Pharmacy in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue in Evanston about 2:30 p.m., according to Evanston police.

The woman hit the accelerator while trying to pull in to a parking space and the Subaru went over the curb, struck a parking meter and bicycle locked to the meter, then the pharmacy, police said.

Nobody was injured. The building sustained minor damage and will be inspected by the city.

The woman was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and damage to city property, police said.

Investigators will recommend the Illinois Secretary of State's office make her taking another driving test.
