Michigan runners return home from the Boston Marathon

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (myFOXDetroit.com) -

Some runners return back from the Boston Marathon with beautiful medals; others didn't get to cross the finish line. But everyone is returning with a heavy heart.

Sarah Wynn is a runner from Lansing who had just crossed the finish line when the first bomb exploded. "Everyone just froze and looked at each other they did not know what to do - when the second bomb went off it was just panic and terror and people screaming," she told us.

Another, Terry Carella, also from Lansing, had forgot her medal and was picking it up at the finish line when the first bomb went off. "I kind of paused for a minute and then I heard the second one and I just grabbed my medal and went as fast as I could," she explained.

Another runner, Paul Wilner, told us, "I was on the race course I could smell gunpowder. And I thought well, somebody's just doing fireworks or something, but I never imagined." Wilner never crossed the finish line.

Other families were there watching, like Stephanie Hunt. She was there with her special needs son, watching a sponsor run for charity in her son's honor. They had just left the marathon before the bombs went off.

The saying art is autobiographical takes on a whole new meaning when your canvas is a fully nude human body, as it is for artist Andy Golub. Andy along with 30 other artists and 45 Technicolor models paraded around several Manhattan hotspots over the weekend for NYC Body Painting day. Believe or not, this is completely legal in New York City.
