A Rehoboth Beach Taco Bell suffered structural damage after state police say a car smashed through its drive-through late Saturday night.
The crash happened at the Taco Bell on the 19000 block of the Coastal Highway in Rehoboth Beach. No one was injured, but investigators say the restaurant cannot be used until structural repairs are made.
The crash happened just before midnight. Police say Gregory Pflug, 60, was driving when the car drove around the building, accelerated suddenly, drove over a flower bed and into the northeast corner of the building.
According to police, Pflug got out of the car and left the area but was followed by witnesses.
Troopers managed to take him into custody shortly after.
Pflug was issued a summons for driving a vehicle under the influence, failing to have identification in possession and other offenses, police said.
