Autopsy: Man found dead in Chicago lagoon stabbed

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (Associated Press) -

The death of a man whose body was recovered from a lagoon in Chicago's Marquette Park has been ruled a homicide.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office says an autopsy on Saturday determined the unidentified man in his 20s died of multiple stab wounds.

The Chicago Police Department's media affairs office said the man's body was recovered by the police Marine Unit on Friday morning after a call from someone who spotted the body in the lagoon at the South Side park.

The Police Department, which makes its own rulings on causes of death, had not yet classified the case as a homicide and was still treating it as a death investigation.
