PD: 23-year-old man killed, suspect on loose

PHOENIX -

A 23-year-old man was killed near 16th Street and Roosevelt on Saturday afternoon.

Phoenix Police say 23-year-old Alvin James Flowers was found with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

Witnesses told police the suspect, a 25-to 30-year-old man, left the scene in a white 4-door sedan.

Shortly after the shooting, police say a car matching the suspect's description was found near 16th Street and Oak.

Officers say they determined the car wasn't involved in the shooting.

The suspect is described as a 25-to 30-year-old Hispanic man, 5'7" to 5'8" tall, 170 to 180 lbs. And was wearing a red T-shirt and black pants.
