First On FOX: Burglars Hit 3 Houses on NE Phila Road Overnight

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

An elderly woman that has lived on the 1100 block of Plane Road in Northeast Philadelphia for 55 years said it has always been a peaceful neighborhood.  It was one of the many reasons why she was stunned to realize someone broke into her house.

She did not want to comment on camera but her neighbor, Jonathan Kennish did.

"Never happened up here," he said.  "You think you're nice and safe up here but obviously not!"

He believes the same criminals tried to get into his house after finding footprints of dirt on his air conditioning unit and a side window above it pushed up.

He said a third home was also targeted.

"We got a phone call from one of our neighbors that someone broke into a house up the street (or) were trying to break in; three fellas wearing all black with flash lights."

Philadelphia Police say they were called out to investigate and are relying on witnesses who may have had a good look at the suspects before they got away. Neighbors believe the suspects may have been teenagers.

Those whose homes were hit told FOX29 nothing appeared to be taken.  The case remains under investigation.
