Father Charged With Stabbing Son

Reversing into his driveway, Reverend Chester Williams witnessed a

mother's pain Friday after police say her 7-month old son was stabbed.

"I  heard the young girl come out screaming and she fainted on the porch."

Seconds later the child's father came racing down the stairs of the house on the 6200

block of Chew in Germantown.

"He hollered with the baby in his arms. 'Somebody help me! The baby fell

on a knife.'" I  said get in the car."

Once inside his S-U-V, Reverend Williams raced the family to the old Germantown Hospital.

He says the child's father was in the passenger seat nursing his son's

wound.

"It was in the head. The back of the head.  That's where he wrapped the towel
around. He told me it was in the back of the head and  he said he fell on a knife
and he was breathing in baby's  mouth."

But investigators say the knife wound was no accident.

They say the  boy's father, 20-year-old Samuel Jones stabbed the boy during a physical and verbal altercation with the boy's mother.

Jones is facing several charges that include simple and aggravated assault as well as endangering he welfare of a child.

Police say the boy is in critical condition at St. Christopher's Hospital.
