2 Shooting Victims' Arrival At Hospital Prompted Lockdown

Posted: Updated:
TRENTON, N.J. -

Two shooting victims showed up at the Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, putting the hospital into a lockdown Friday.

That lockdown was lifted later in the afternoon.

We're told that two people drove themselves to the hospital here. They had both been shot.

There was no word on their conditions at late Friday afternoon, but the scene was still being held at dinnertime.

Emergency responders were first called to the scene shortly before 2:45 p.m.

Phone calls to Capital Health Regional Medical Center shortly thereafter confirmed the lockdown at the facility, located at 750 Brunswick Ave.

Now, when the victims were first discovered in the hospital parking lot, the hospital did go on lockdown. But it was eventually determined that the victims showed up here shot, and the shooting did not happen at the hospital.

A blue Jeep vehicle sitting in the parking lot was reported to be the one the two victims showed up in, and it was roped off with crime scene tape.

There's no information being released by investigators as to when or where the shooting happened.

Police and crime scene detectives who were in the hospital and looking at the vehicle eventually left. So, we're also waiting for more information right now as to how the victims are doing.
