The repercussions of Jodi Arias' tweeting

Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX -

The nation is all atwitter over Jodi Arias' Twitter account. Hours after FOX 10 broke the story of Jodi's jailhouse tweets -- the accused murderer's Twitter account has gone from obscure to growing in popularity by the minute.

FOX 10 has confirmed exclusively that Jodi Arias -- who is on trial for killing her boyfriend Travis Alexander -- has been relaying messages to a friend who is managing her Twitter account.

When we first reported Wednesday about Jodi Arias' little-known Twitter account, it had 528 followers. Now it's up to more than 13,000.

"I think it's a way of her getting out her frustration, because she doesn't have a chance to say much," explained Jodi's friend Donavan Bering.

She is managing the account for Jodi, and says she talks to Jodi on the phone almost daily about what she wants tweeted.

"She'll call and say 'I have a quote.' We'll talk about it. Sometimes she says 'let's tweet.' And then she'll say 'no let's not do it.'"

Her tweets have gone after prosecutor Juan Martinez, saying he has "little man syndrome" and that he needs anger management.

News of a Jodi Arias Twitter page has sparked a lot of anger and outrage. Just look at some of the comments on the FOX 10 Facebook page.

FOX 10 legal expert, attorney Brian Foster, joined us to discuss what repercussions this could have on the case.
