Eva Mendes plans to be in metro Detroit soon and she has a message for her longtime fan and author Alan Lee: write me a singing role!

Mendes, who stars alongside boyfriend  RyanGosling in The Place Beyond the Pines, joked in an interview with FOX 2's Lee Thomas that Lee might have what it takes to bring out her musical talents.

"Hi Alan. I'd like to explore more comedy so I'm not saying you should write me a comedy, but if you're writing this script for me anyways, just make sure it has some comedic elements," said Mendes. "And, I'd like to sing in some of these (movies). Maybe a musical element as well? I'm just saying.."

Lee's first novel Sandstorm is set for release on June 4.

Mendes reportedly will be in metro Detroit this spring to film Gosling's directorial debut How to Catch a Monster.
