Bob Sirott`s One More Thing about Chicago Magazine`s top restaurants

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

One more thing about the election results. The votes are in and there are 18 winners. I'm talking about Chicago Magazine's list of the top new restaurants.

The magazine's food writers sampled 73 restaurants that have opened in the Chicago area since last April. Here they are, ranked by Chicago Magazine according to greatness they say.

Number one is Grace, the luxurious and expensive foodie favorite in the West Loop. The rest of the list includes all kinds of restaurants: storefronts, neighborhood joints and places where it's BYOB.

The magazine says the one thing they all have in common is terrific food. Looking at the list, there's another thing they all have in common: much to Mrs. Sirott's dismay, I haven't dined at any of them; although I was at one of the 18 for a party.

Then again, you probably don't want me voting on the best new restaurants of the past year, since my favorite meal so far in 2013 was the Dairy Queen banana shake I just had over the weekend.

I did take an informal poll of the FOX 32 newsroom today and there was a tie for best new restaurant. Actually neither one is even open for a few months, but the new Lake Street Billy Goat and Chick-Fil-A topped our list.
