Powerball Now Available, Joins California Lottery

Posted: Updated:
Los Angeles, CA -

(FOX 11 / CA Lottery) Starting April 1st with stops in Los Angeles and San Francisco and culminating with the first Powerball live draw in Sacramento on April 10th, the RedBall Project will be visiting surprise spots in these cities as a fun reminder of what the red Powerball can mean to residents, businesses and the state. In addition to $45-50 million in additional supplemental funds for California public schools generated through game sales, Powerball represents endless possibilities for players - an opportunity to dream big and win big with jackpots starting at $40 million!

The $2 Powerball game is played much like the popular Mega Millions game. Players choose five numbers from 1 to 59 and one red Powerball number from 1 to 35. Players can choose their own numbers or opt for a Quick Pick. Draws are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 7:59 p.m. PST. Unlike MEGA Millions and SuperLotto Plus®, Powerball's pool closure occurs promptly at 7 p.m. PST each draw day. Besides the jackpot, there are eight additional ways to win prizes. The amounts will vary due to the State's pari-mutuel rules.

A major difference between California¹s existing draw games is that the Powerball jackpot begins at $40 million and increases by at least $10 million every roll.

The saying art is autobiographical takes on a whole new meaning when your canvas is a fully nude human body, as it is for artist Andy Golub. Andy along with 30 other artists and 45 Technicolor models paraded around several Manhattan hotspots over the weekend for NYC Body Painting day. Believe or not, this is completely legal in New York City.
