DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -

A family in DeKalb County is mourning the loss of a member of their family after a fire rips through their home early Saturday morning.

Family members tell FOX 5 News that fire happened on Tudor Castle Circle around 4:15 a.m. Saturday. Linda Hall says her 37-year-old daughter's final words of panic haunt her. She says she and her husband Robert tried to save Eris Evans from the burning home, but the flames, heat, and smoke were too much.

She says her husband was also seriously injured and is being treated at Grady Memorial Hospital for burns to the face.

The family doesn't know how the fire started.
