Money Monday: MLB Tiger's Promotions and Michigan Stocks

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (myFOXDetroit.com) -

Today is the home-opener at Comerica Park. Major League Baseball will stage more promotional events this year, trying to get more people into the ballpark.

A Marketing Professor at the University of Detroit tells Murray promotions will be up at 14% in the league this year. The Tiger's have 87 special events planned, and more fireworks events than any other team.

Stocks and shares are down at Ford three cents ahead of the day's opening bell.

General Motors says the payroll tax hike this year did impact auto sales a bit. GM is down six cents a share.

Domino's Pizza will be featured in an online promotion to grab business during the big basketball weekend ahead. Domino's stock is up $1.57 - that's a one day gain of more than 3%.

    One of the tubes of the Lincoln Tunnel was closed for nearly four hours after a chain-reaction accident involving a New York-bound jitney bus and two other vehicles. Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesman Steve Coleman says three people were reported injured in the accident in the center tube at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
