A man in Cheltenham threatened to kill employees if they looked at him during a robbery at a Rite Aid early Tuesday morning, police said.

The robbery was reported around 5:20 a.m. at the Rite Aid store on the 1400 block of Cheltenham Avenue.

Police say the man entered the store and took a cold medicine product. Surveillance video shows the man then approach the register, where he paid for the item. Police say the man then pulled a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the register along with cigarettes.

Surveillance video shows an employee behind the register hand the suspect dozens of packages of cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say the money and the cigarettes were placed in two bags and the suspect with the gun, along with another suspect believed to be involved, left the store.

Police describe both suspects as black men standing 5'10" tall.
