Mom Accused Of Forcing Daughter To Fight Appears In Court

Posted: Updated:
UPPER DARBY, Pa. -

A Delaware County mom accused of forcing her daughter to fight a classmate made a brief court appearance Tuesday morning.

Police say 45-year-old Michelle Davenport took her 12-year-old daughter to a playground to confront another 12-year-old girl who she said was bullying her.

According to investigators, at one point the girls wanted to stop, but Davenport insisted they go on.

Someone recorded the entire fight on a camera.

Davenport waived her preliminary hearing Tuesday and has a formal arraignment set for May 1.

Fox 29's Steve Keeley was at court and spoke to her lawyer, who said Davenport may plead guilty in a plea bargain. He added that they are in discussions with prosecutors.

The lawyer also added that his client says the video "was the worst 5 minutes of her life."

Davenport did not speak to anyone and quickly drove away from the courthouse.
