VERNON HILLS, Ill. (FOX 32 News) -

A young girl from Vernon Hills has been given a unique responsibility. Madison Zack is so good at hockey, the boys voted her captain of the team!

Madison is the first girl captain of the Ice Dogs, and the only lady on the team! The boys voted the defenseman into the position, and she plans on taking them to the championship.

The 10-year-old has been hitting the ice since she was four years old, and is a huge Chicago Blackhawks fan. Madison loves how tough the sport is, and plans to continue playing hockey in college or even be the first woman to go pro.

Congratulations Madison!
