Memorial service for Eddie Basha set for Saturday, April 6

Posted: Updated:

A memorial service for 75-year-old Eddie Basha will be held next Saturday morning at ASU Gammage. It is open to the public.

Not only was Eddie Basha a successful businessman and a strong believer in public education, he was a local philanthropist who supported a number of worthy causes all across the state.

He was born and raised in Chandler, the great-grandson of Lebanese immigrants. The Stanford grad took over his family's grocery store business at the age of 31.

He unsuccessfully ran for governor in 1994. Basha leaves behind a wife and six sons.
