Memorial service for Eddie Basha set for Saturday, April 6

A memorial service for 75-year-old Eddie Basha will be held next Saturday morning at ASU Gammage. It is open to the public.

Not only was Eddie Basha a successful businessman and a strong believer in public education, he was a local philanthropist who supported a number of worthy causes all across the state.

He was born and raised in Chandler, the great-grandson of Lebanese immigrants. The Stanford grad took over his family's grocery store business at the age of 31.

He unsuccessfully ran for governor in 1994. Basha leaves behind a wife and six sons.

ASU Gammage in Tempe

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in memory of Eddie to St. Vincent de Paul, The Salvation Army, First Things First, The Adelante Foundation, or a special charity of your choice.
