WHEATON, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A west suburban man charged with breaking into and vandalizing a church is also suspected of similar cries at two other churches and a school.

Jason R. Schultz, 38, of the 700 block of Liberty Avenue in Wheaton, was arrested and charged with one count of burglary from a school or place of worship, according to the DuPage County Sheriff's office.

His arrest followed a series of reported burglaries at St. Luke's Evangelical Church in unincorporated Glen Ellyn, according to a release from the sheriff's office, which has also received reports of burglaries at a school and two churches in the south Milton Township area.

Schultz allegedly damaged computer equipment and ate a meal during the break-ins at St. Luke's, which occurred in the evening or early morning hours, according to police.

He is being held at DuPage County Jail and is expected in court for a bond hearing Thursday afternoon.
